DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on infant (under age of 1) mortality per 1000 births in Lithuania in 1925-2021 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Lithuania, status 2020 (NUTS:LT). Infant mortality per 1000 births was relatively high in the interwar period, with trend to decrease. Infant mortality per 1000 births declined rapidly in the 1950s and 1960s due to global medical advances and the centralization of childbirth in medical facilities.
