DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on birth rate per 1000 population in Latvia in 1920-2020 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Latvia, status 2020 (NUTS:LV). The number of births has been affected by the economic situation, the Second World War, and the aging of society. In a 100-year perspective, the number of births has significantly decreased, the number of births per 1,000 inhabitants in 2020 was 2.5 times lower than in 1922.
