DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on number of seniors in Latvia in 1925-2020 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Latvia, status 2020 (NUTS:LV). The number of seniors in Latvia has tripled in 100 years. It has grown the most in Riga - seven times. The increase in the number of seniors has been caused by both the increase in life expectancy and the aging of society.
