DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on GDP total in Estonia in 1922-2022 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Estonia, status 2020 (NUTS:EST). In the interwar period, Estonia's GDP experienced stable growth. During the period of occupation of the USSR, the GDP increased, but a large part of the added value created by the GDP was used outside the territory of Estonia and did not contribute to the well-being of the Estonian population. After the restoration of independence, the economic transformation was overcome, the GDP grew until the global economic crisis (2008), after a two-year decline, growth resumed.
