DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on employment in industry (including construction) in Estonia in 1922-2020 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Estonia, status 2020 (NUTS:EST). The data contain information on the number of employed persons and their share in total employment. In the interwar period, the number of employed people was small (13 - 14%). During the occupation period of the USSR, as a result of the industrialization policy, the number of employed people increased rapidly, but after the economic transformation in the 1990s, it decreased.
