DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on employment in agriculture in Latvia in 1919-2022 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Latvia, status 2020 (NUTS:LV). The data contain information on the number of employed persons and their share in total employment. During the interwar period, the number of people employed in agriculture was high and remained stable. Two thirds of the employed were employed in agriculture. During the occupation period of the USSR, the number of employed people decreased, this was caused by the decrease in the importance of agriculture and the increase in the level of mechanization.
