DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on employment in agriculture in Lithuania in 1923-2020 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Lithuania, status 2020 (NUTS:LT). The data contain information on the number of employed persons and their share in total employment. During the interwar period, the number of people employed in agriculture was high and remained stable. Three quarters of the employed were employed in agriculture. During the occupation of the USSR, the number of employed people decreased, this was caused by industrialization and an increase in the level of mechanization.
