DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on ethnic composition of population in Lithuania in 1923-2021 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Lithuania, status 2020 (NUTS:LT). In the interwar period, the ethnic composition remained almost unchanged. Jews were killed in the Holocaust during World War II. During the Soviet occupation, the number of Russians and other East Slavs increased as a result of immigration. After the restoration of independence, the share of Lithuanians increased slightly.
