DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on number of population in countryside in Lithuania in 1923-2022 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Lithuania, status 2020 (NUTS:LT). The rural population increased slightly during the interwar period, decreased rapidly during the Second World War and during the Soviet occupation, and continued to decrease slightly after the restoration of Lithuania's independence.
