DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on number of population in countryside in Estonia in 1922-2020 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Estonia, status 2020 (NUTS:EST). The rural population remained relatively constant in the interwar period, declined rapidly during World War II, and continued to decline gradually during the Soviet occupation and stabilized after the restoration of Estonian independence.
