DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on number of pigs in Estonia in 1920-2023 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Estonia, status 2020 (NUTS:EST). The number of pigs increased during the interwar period. After a decrease in numbers during the First World War and Sovietization, it increased from the 1950s. The number of pigs reached its peak in the 1980s, thanks to imported fodder. In the 21st century, the number of pigs tends to decrease.
