DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on number of horses in Lithuania in 1925-2022 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Lithuania, status 2020 (NUTS:LT). In the interwar period, horses were used in large numbers in agriculture and transport. Their number began to decrease after the Second World War due to the mechanization of agricultural work and the transport sector.
