DESCRIPTION:
This dataset contains data on meat production (in live weight) in Latvia in 1922-2020 according to the Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics codes of Latvia, status 2020 (NUTS:LV). In the interwar period, meat production increased. After the decline in production during the Second World War, it gradually increased, reaching its highest level in the 1980s. This increase was not provided by local fodder but by imported fodder. After a rapid change in volumes in the 90s, the situation has stabilized in the 21st century.
